The Beginning....
Self-promotion really isn't my thing. I want to be a writer. I always have and I think I always will. It's not so much about the writing, it's more about a desire to tell stories. I spent my whole childhood gazing out of windows imagining epic battles, landscapes decimated by monstrous robots fighting off hordes of invaders, and other weird stuff.
I desired storytelling daily from school, yet, only once in high school were we allowed to write something of our own. Just once! It never occurred to me to take the initiative and go solo, run wild, yet, every night I closed my eyes and pictured insane scenarios and situations driven with narrative outcomes and goals. It just took over thirty years to get around to do something about it.
It was the podcast world that finally gave me the push and belief to cross that boundary and see what could happen. The likelihood being nothing. Success is determined by your goals and I've already exceeded them. Completing a novel is an exceptional achievement, and if you're interested, that should be your first goal. If you enjoyed it, then why not right another? Maybe you become good at it eventually. If you didn't enjoy it then why are you doing it?
This blog will hopefully give you something useful and hopefully promote my own work, and I hope to share some of those aspects as I go from novice to writer.
If it makes you happy just go and do it.

Community and Rick and Morty creator/co-creator, Dan Harmon is very open about his craft, although those discussions are few and far between, it's a great insight into a high-level creative talent. His Tumblr account and a quick google search will link you to some of his advice, especially regarding the story circle, and his simplification/breaking down of it. It's a great starting point for any writer. It's mostly a show for entertainment, but large parts of it are just fascinating.

This is arguably one of the most extensive, and also concise, places you can get advice and ideas from published authors, who have an extensive range of expertise. Brandon Sanderson features heavily and they switch topics over seasons, and each episode is clearly labeled.
